Tumbling and Soccer

The girls had their end of the year tumbling event in May. They were both so great. Rebekah has gotten so much better and her body has gotten so long this year. I can really tell how much progress she has made in tumbling.

Rebekah walking on her hands.

Miriam doing a somersault. Miriam has gotten really good at standing on her head. Their teacher gives them a regular size candy bar if they can do it for longer than 45 seconds and then again if they beat their own record. Miriam keeps coming home with these giant candy bars. It amazes me!

Ugg...the waiting at his sisters events has already begun. Poor guy.

The girls both played soccer this spring. They had so much fun. It just so happens that both their teams colors were NEON orange. Very Neon (which has come in handy later). They also happened to both be the same number uniform, number 9. What are the chances, really. They played excellently. It was fun watching them.

Miriam

Always such a fun and happy girl

Waiting for her turn to play.

Miriam is a strong player (when she wants to be). You can tell she is thinking about the game and trying to think about where the ball might go next. She did not want to be part of the crowd chasing the ball. She stood off to the side and waited for a moment when the ball had been kicked out of the group and she made several goals that way. Smartie pants. There of course were the occasional times where she would run along the side of her opponent who had the ball and just smile at him instead of trying to steal the ball. Love that girl!

Miriam's team. A lot of kids left early that day it seems. One of the Mom's on the team made matching hairbows for all the girls so they were a very good lookin' team.

Miss Rebekah.

Rebekah's team

Rebekah had some good experience this year playing in various positions. Her favorite was playing forward, but there were lots of kids on her team so she sometimes got that position and sometimes not. Glenn coached her well from the sideline (he was not the coach though). She responded well to his council and played great each game. Midway through the season she rolled her ankle a bit and got a slight ankle sprain. She missed one practice and then was back at it again.
